STYLE GUIDE | TOP 8 SUMMER FILM LOOKS
With the recent release of mega-blockbuster films like Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jurassic World, and Ted 2 and the arrival of the outdoor film screening as one of the most popular summer attractions, it's apparent that we're in full swing for the summer movie season. And for all the killer fashion that comes with, we've put together a countdown of the top summer film-inspired looks that you can easily recreate — whether it's a throwback screening of a classic on your local park lawn, drive-in theatre or sandy beach, or a red carpet premiere at a theatre like the The Archlight.
8. JURASSIC WORLD (2015)

This summer’s top blockbuster movie Jurassic World stars Bryce Howard Dallas as Claire (the park’s operations manager), whose clothing — as you may guess — isn’t suited for the occurring events in the movie. Either way, her belted shirt paired with the skirt of similar color makes for a boundless summer look!
7. TOP GUN (1986)

This cinematic classic is, of course, all about the uniform. Although you might recognize the Airforce One look as that overly done Halloween party costume you see at every party at least once a year, we're highlighting Tom Cruise’s amazing moto-jacket this time around. Although this style isn’t the traditional one you'd find paired with a motorcycle, it never fails to look oh-so-good (and not to mention, on the guy who's wearing it)!
6. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2014)

If you’ve had a chance to see Guardians of the Galaxy, then you know its costumes to possess a certain level of edge, showcasing characters who are fearless and bold (traits that are of great use when you need to save an entire galaxy from mass destruction). The former assassin Gamora (played by Zoe Saldana) keeps to her signature dark leather apparel throughout the film.
5. THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2 (2014)

The series of blazers, pleated skirts, and elegant coats worn by Emma Stone’s character, Gwen Stacey, helps solidify her good-girl role in the series, and yet her pleated skirt and button-down shirt paired with knee high boots gives us a peek into her bold tendencies (plus, being Spiderman’s love interest doesn't hurt in making this an obvious choice for a top summer film look).
4. THE GREAT GATSBY (2013)

The perfect movie for any lover of the 1920s, The Great Gatsby is filled with mesmerizing costumes — from long, classy dresses to short, playful ones. Carey Mulligan’s character, Daisy Buchanan, dons a sophisticated, light cream dress — a great look for any kind of fancy or romantic festivities the summer has in store.
3. IRON MAN 3 (2003)

Pepper Potts (played by the stunning Gwyneth Paltrow) is the foundation for Stark Industries, and plays Iron Man’s love interest throughout all the movies. Costume designer Louise Frogley always ensures Gwyneth looks flawless and ready to act in the elegant, contemporary business attire she sports for this demanding role.
2. DEVIL WEARS PRADA (2006)

The Devil Wears Prada really is the go-to-movie for incredible fashion inspiration. While Andy (played by Anne Hathaway) starts off with plaid skirts and overly chunky sweaters, she eventually trades them in for an array of chic black dresses, knee high boots, and stylish hats. The one above is pulled from one of her more casual selections, and yet is still one of the most noteworthy looks seen in the movie — and a great look for both men and women.

I couldn’t resist! How could the #1 summer film look not come from a movie held so dear in the eyes of fashion-fanatics everywhere (especially the look that marked the beginning of Andy’s transformation and initiation into the world of Runway)? Hot, chic and the perfect look for a classic summer night out.
